ASM Service Fees

To determine the fee for a single-signed item, consult our fee schedule to find the appropriate fee for the autograph in question.

For a multi-signed item, first determine the fee for the most valuable autograph (the "premier autograph") by consulting our fee schedule. Then, determine the total number of signatures on the item and refer to the chart provided to find the column and row corresponding to the fee and number of signatures. This will give you the total authentication fee for your multi-signed item.

The authentication fee for a multi-signed item (2-49 signatures), with a Premier Autograph that has an authentication fee of $150 or higher, remains the same as the single-signed Premier Autograph rate.

Letter Upgrade: Upgrades to full Letters of Authenticity are available for an additional fee of $20. Items with authentication fees $50 and above are automatically issued a Letter of Authenticity, no additional payment is required.

Autograph Grading: Once the autograph is deemed authentic, it can then be graded based on the condition of the autograph using a scale of 1-10, with ten being the highest. The fee for autograph grading is ½ of the normal authentication rate. Note, the grading fee is in addition to the authentication fee.
Example: Authentication fee is $20, so autograph grading fee would be $10 or authentication fee is $200, so autograph grading fee would be $100.

Baseball Encapsulation: Baseballs can be encased in our unique tamper-evident case for an additional fee of $30. The attractive, hard plastic cases provide protection from most damage.

Encapsulating Your Autographed Items: Tamper-evident cases are used to encapsulate autographed checks, cuts, index cards, postcards and trading cards. By choosing encapsulation, the tamper-evident label and Letter of Authenticity are forfeited, unless the customer requests a Letter Upgrade for an additional $20 per item. Please note, you must fill out the correct Encapsulation Submission Form , and encapsulation is only available for items that fit in our current holders. Items 5"x7" or larger will be charged an oversized fee of $10 per item.

Re-Encapsulation: Items that have already been authenticated by ASM and now require a new holder due to scratching and/or chipping can be submitted for re-encapsulation for a fee of $8 ($10 for oversized items). Note: if the sonic weld on the case has been broken, or shows signs of tampering, the item will not qualify for re-encapsulation and regular authentication rates will apply.

Card Grading: Licensed trading cards with authentic autographs can also have the card graded based on condition for an additional fee of $40 for standard service, $150 for ½ Turnaround Time service and $250 for super express service. Please note, both the autograph and the card must receive a grade in order to use this service, therefore the final price will reflect the appropriate authentication fee, autograph grading fee and card grading fee. Cards that have autographs which have been certified directly through the manufacturer can be submitted on a ASM Submission Form.

Expedited Processing: Add $200 per order (1-5 items) or $400 per order (6-10 items) for an estimated 5-10 business day turnaround. Or add $100 per order (1-5 items) or $200 per order (6-10 items) for the order to be completed in ½ of the normal estimated turnaround time. Shipment time is not included. Packages must be marked express on the outside of the package. Note, express processing is only valid on full retail submissions and is not eligible if a discount is applied.

Premium Item Fee: Any item with a declared value of $5,000 or more is subject to a Premium Item fee in addition to the authentication fee.
